108 is an Emergency service number started by Mr. Fraud. We all are aware of 911, Right ? Mr. Fraud was on U.S. trip when he came to know the importance of 911. On returning he decided to start the same kind of service for the country………but as we know our Politicians are not willing to accept such changes he was discouraged from all sides. But the man was determined, he decided to give it a start and started the venture, form Hyderabad. Thus 108 was born. Have a medical Emergency…. OR need Police help………OR there is fire break out ….just call 108 …….the rest they will do. Not only this but if you have any other issues relating to Electricity, Road, etc just give them a call they will look after it. Soon the idea was a hit. Later that was extended to the whole A.P.
To give you Real Life Experience, I have two incidents to narrate
I use to stay in Working Men’s Hostel , Madhapur Hyderabad, Some 3-4 months ago. Our neighbor had some sort of function at there home and the celebration was in full swing………DJ’s ….Dances. It was disturbing the whole public,………but We are too Democratic to do any thing………..We started watching the watch …….hoping that it will soon be 10 and DJ will stop(As per Suprem Court Order). But that did not happen. Finally our Warden went and had an word with the owner….but there was no effect..Still the party was going on…..,we called to police but that to did not worked out(Actually they did’t turn up)…….finally at 1’O we decided to test 108.. We dialed it…and ahhhhh a lady answered ( it feels so nice to hear a lady from other side and that too at 1’Oclock…….Thanks Raju) any ways…….I logged a complaint with her, she took some Details for confirmation….Within 15 mins Police came and the DJ stopped. Next day I received a call from Police and was enquired if the action was satisfactory…..Really feels great na……….
We shifted in a Flat in same area….The GOD OF RAIN is very happy with Hyderabadians …..Now it was poring here from past few days……It was around 10:30, when we had just completed our Dinner and we enjoying rains in our Balcony, when suddenly a cable from transformer (which was fitted opposite to our Apartment) broke down and the opposite Apartment went in to dark. At around 12 we noticed that the cable was still unattended. We again decided to test 108( you know when you have lot of time and no work,………such crazy ideas come to our mind). We called 108. Again some soft voice attended our call .I logged a complaint , my details were taken. Within 5 mins my phone rang , it was from 108….some hard voice this time, He had called me to inform that my complaint has been forward to the Electric ity Department office and action will be taken as soon as possible( I remembered my mails intended to Testing people wherein I request them to test my Code and pass it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE). Any ways…within minute’s Electricity department Emergency van arrived and the defect was addressed. Next I received call from electric ity department stating that the issue was resolved, the man on other side very politely requested me “SAHAB 108 WALO KU DISTURB KARTE HO ISKE BAAD MUZE DIRECTLY CALL KAR DIA KARO “, he gave me his personal number also.
See the effect of Accountability. In both cases 108 had made them accountable…..the reason for fast action.
So can we now call this man Mr. Fraud…..At least he did his part for society, any ways don’t be stressed as this article is not intended to show how Raju was, its only for 108
